Mission Statement
Our primary goal is to represent and be the voice of pickleball players in the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL), the main liaison with the CKL and pickleball governing bodies, the Pickleball Canada Organization (PCO) and the Pickleball Ontario Association (POA) and other sports associations and clubs.
Our mission is to:
Facilitate the development of pickleball for all ages, skill levels and abilities in the CKL by cultivating a fair environment that promotes enjoyment, health and social engagement without discrimination.
Source new pickleball venues to offer players more choices with multiple locations and sessions as the popularity of this game grows.
Universally promote and advocate the recognition of pickleball as a sport.

Benefits of Membership in the KLPA
Inclusion in the POA and PCO insurance program.*

A common single voice when dealing with local civic authorities for more opportunities and facilities for pickleball play.
Recognized entity when applying for funding from any source.
Ability to manage local pickleball affairs.
Coaching and teaching opportunities, other clinics - beginner to advanced training, officiating and training-the-trainer.
Structured play with all-year-round access to locations.
A newsletter, social activities and a contact list of players.
Arrangement of tournaments by the KLPA and members automatically have insurance to play in tournaments.
Support for existing play locations, the Curling Clubs in Bobcaygeon and Lindsay (Community Care), Bobcaygeon Public school (Community Care), the Omemee Curling Club and the groups that play at Memorial Park in Lindsay and the Burnt River Community Centre
Membership Fees
Membership in the KLPA will be $30 annually, of which $10 is retained by the KLPA to cover expenses for equipment and balls. $20 goes to POA/PCO membership.
*The KLPA Board, all volunteers, chose to be affiliated with the Pickleball Ontario Association & the Pickleball Canada Organization. This affiliation has the following requirements: Recognize POA/PCO as governing bodies of Pickleball, maintain 100% membership in POA/PCO, have a Board of Directors, have a membership fee, have a bank account and have a non-misleading name.
